Some Fun Cards

Just wanted to share a couple of the cards I'm making...

The 1st one is using the same idea I showed last week from my technique class. All products are from SU.... I love the effect of the swirly stamp used with the VersaMark watermark stamp! And my usual butterflies with the wings popping up a little!!

My second card is just a fun kid's birthday card... I was searching the internet for Cricut ideas and Annie's Attic had samples from the Card Making With Cricut book....

I think this one would be good for a boy of any age!!

Thanks for stopping by and looking!!!

Purple Collection

A friend of mine ordered 10 purple birthday cards. She said they could all be the same, but those of you that know me know that I have a hard time making more than 2 cards the same (I didn't get the wonderful sketches from OWH until after I finished these!) , so this was a little challenging... trying to come up with 10 different looks!

Here are 4 of them... these and a few more will be on my rainbows n butterflies facebook fanpage if you care to see more! (see the link to the right)...

(I don't know why some come out blurry while others don't... still working on that!)

The Happy Birthday sentiment is SU's Word Window Punch and Teeny Tiny Wishes, and the bottom one is SU's Curvey Verses (You're a wonderful reason to celebrate!). I used SU's Priceless for the pretty swirl, and the paper is all generic cardstock. For the butterfly, I layered 2 and markered the edge of the top one, and flipped the wings up for some dimension. The large flower is Prima Flowers (got a tub of them from Hobby Lobby) and I also used a marker to edge and color it. The tiny flowers are from a booth at a Scrapbook Expo... sorry, don't know the maker. Oh, and the tiny pearls are from SU also!

Please feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think!!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Technique group

I've mentioned before that I belong to a small technique group through my Stampin' Up friend. Once a month we get together to make 3 projects, and she teaches us new techniques to use on our paper crafts.

Here are the projects we learned in January...

A card....

A decorated notepad... (sorry it's blurry...not sure about that!!)

and a cute little trinket box...

All projects were made with Stampin' Up papers and accessories.

OWH Sketch Challenge #51

This my 1st time participating in an OWH sketch challenge... it was a lot easier than I thought it would be!!

... And here is a fun card I made last week. I've seen ladybugs on various blogs that I thought were so cute, but most were premade embellishments, so I came up with this on my own. I used 2 1/2" red and black circles for the body and wings, 1 1/2" black circle for the head, hole punched black paper and used the little circles for the dots on the wings, wiggly eyes, a white marker for the smile, and cut a bazillion slits in dark green for the grass!

Feel free to CASE him, but please refer back to my site... and leave a message here with your link so I can see what you come up with!!

Masculine Cards

This week the OWH Challenge is to make "Thinking Of You" cards.... apparently they have a slight shortage so we need to get them caught up! There was also a request for masculine cards, so I put the 2 together.....

...not sure why the writing is blurry, but it's a Thinking Of You from Stampin' Up. Same with these 2...

I made a bunch of Valentine's Day and Love cards over the last couple weeks. Here are just a couple...

I was trying to get away from non-traditional colors. I think all the paper I used on these were from Stampin' Up as well.

Until next time!!

Just A Quick Hello!

One of my favorite pass-times is blog-hopping and looking at what other cardmakers are doing, and about a week ago I came across this really cool flower using the Stampin' Up word window punch....

The blog I found it on is by Mary Director (who also happens to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator and so kindly allowed me to CASE it!) at www.kreateskards.blogspot.com
You can visit her page to see the original!

I also made this one .....

Both cards were made with Stampin' Up stamps, ink, punches, and diamond rhinestones. The 1st card was made with cardstock from last year's Stampin' Up Love pack, but the 2nd was basic cardstock from my local stationary store, as are the brads.

Hopefully I will have some Valentine Cards posted by tomorrow night!
