More Christmas Cards

The last few days I have been trying to get my cards together to send to OWH... Had the girls making Any Hero Cards that came out really cute!

Moving right along with the Christmas Cards, I made about 10 more today! So as not to bore you, I'm only posting a few of them here. The rest will be on my FaceBook Page (the tab on the right side of my page will take you there).

This one is just a simple card using stamps from Recollections and Stampin' Up... dazzled it up a little with glitter on the ribbon!
I thought this one had a little too much green in it, but my daughter really liked it.... so it stays!
Another simple card, but I love the background....

.... And... my favorite is.......
This beautiful blue snowman!!!

I recently purchased some rhinestones and couldn't wait to use them! Those, the stamps, and ink/markers are all from Stampin' Up. I also added some snowflakes (Marvy Punch)...

I am going to a boutique in Orange on November 5th to try to sell these. These are all one-of-a-kind, but if you like any and would like me to make you some, please let me know!

And don't forget to check out my FB page for more cards! Hope those of you that celebrated had a safe and fun Halloween! Good Night!!

Cards Sent To Sweden!!!

I think at one time or another, every cardmaker hopes their cards will travel to as many countries around the world as they can.... well, guess what???

MINE ARE HEADED TO SWEDEN!!!

While searching Facebook one day, my sister Carina found a lady in Sweden that has the same name as her. It wouldn't be such a big deal except that not only do they have the same uncommon name, their families are from the same town, and they both have aunts and uncles and cousins, etc., with a lot of the same names!! Anyway, I have befriended her also and she happened to mention that she likes my cards.... so... being the giver that I am, I offered to send her some to share with her friends!

Just to make them a little more special for her, I did some research and translated them into Swedish! I just hope I used the correct translations!! I'm posting them x-large with hopes that you can read the sayings :)

Operation Write Home

One more thing before I go to sleep...

I came across this wonderful organization that collects handmade cards from cardmakers around the country and sends them to troops overseas so the troops can send cards to their loved ones at home. They collect cards for every holiday, birthdays, thank you cards, thinking of you cards, kid's cards, etc.

They also give us the opportunity to send cards to the servicemen and women to thank them for their service, which I understand are received with tremendous gratitude!

I've been working on my first box to send in but, like all my other projects, it's moving a little slower than I'd like! If anyone would like to get together and make some cards for OWH, please leave me a post with some info on how to best contact you. Or, if you would like to make cards on your own and send them all together, we can do that too!

Here's what I have so far.... (there are just a little over 20 cards ready)

I can tell this is going to be a very slow process! I worked for about 2 hours last night and this was all I got done! You can't tell on this one, but I used some Polar White Flower Soft on the snow to add a little dimension...

I love light blue for Christmas cards!

The snowmen are all from from Stampin' Up and I colored them in with Stampin' Up Markers.

.... and here's a close-up so you can see the Flower Soft on the snow!

Hopefully I will have a little more to show in the next couple days!
And if you have any good ideas for me, please leave me a post with your blog.... I love swapping ideas!

My Work Space

So this is where I sit for hours on end trying to come up with something brilliant that will capture the attention of potential buyers!!

I know it doesn't seem like much, but you see that closet in the mirror? That's where I keep the good stuff hidden!

As you can see by all the red on the table, I am working on some Christmas cards in the hopes that I can come up with something to sell at a boutique or two this winter! And the pile in front of the mirror is the Halloween stuff I haven't finished!

Last but not least, I keep a picture of my dad right in front of me... We lost him almost a year ago to Pancreatic Cancer, and not much brings me more pleasure than when I sit and daydream about him!!

I am participating in the PanCan Walk on November 13th... please visit my page if you get a chance!

I attend a Technique Class once a month with my favorite Stampin' Up demonstrator, Aimee Gandara.  Each month we get together and we get to make 3 projects using whatever technique she conjures up for us!  This past week we made a cute little purse using a template that turned out to be a lot easier than it looked! We also made a wine bottle tag and a beautiful Christmas card.

The snowman was made using different punches and glitter.... a little more small pieces than I usually like to use, but since he's so cute, I'm thinking of making more! (I guess that really depends on whether or not I get some orders for him!)

Another Halloween Mini Album

Here's another Halloween Mini... I think I'll just make a bunch of them since I'm already getting orders! Anyone want to join me?

PS... I'm still learning how to size and position my postings! There's so much to learn that I'm beginning to feel like a "Blog Junkie"!!!

I was going through my stickers and embellishments and found some Halloween stuff.... so I figured I'd make a mini album. I started making these a couple years ago and actually sold them on Ebay!

The book is made out of small paper bags. You can use any size or color you want, but I used brown
5 1/8" x 3 1/8" x 10 5/8". I punched 3 holes on the sides and tied ribbon through it. After I glued a background on each page (4 3/4" x 4"), I decorated with stickers, embellishments, and Voila!!

These little albums are great for any occasion.... It's totally up to you and your creativity!!

Here's the 1st of the bunch!!

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my new blog! I hope this becomes a page you visit often and tell your friends about!

I would love for this to become a place where you can get cardmaking ideas, and where you can feel free to share your ideas. I have 4 kids and love sharing stories about them, so bear with me while I introduce you to my family!

My oldest daughter is 18 and just graduated high school. She just got her driver's licence and is currently in the process of trying to get into the Air Force.
My son is 13 and has informed us that football is his passion!
The 2 youngest girls are 9 and 8 years old. They have taken dance, cheer, and most recently softball. We also just got a piano and my 9 year old started lessons yesterday.
As for me, my husband and I just celebrated 10 years of marital bliss!!! We had a beautiful dinner at La Cave in Costa Mesa.... highly recommend it!

Three days ago I started making Christmas cards! I know.... it's only October! But I had a couple projects I needed to get ahead on, so I figured I would just go with it! As soon as I figure out how to upload pictures, I will post some of my favorite cards. (tips and advice are welcome!)

Hope you have a great week!
