Schoolhouse Chipboard Album

I made this Schoolhouse album for my youngest daughter's kindergarten teacher. My daughter is now in 4th grade, but Stacy and I have stayed friends through the years. She gave me a DCWV Grade School paper pack at the end of last year, so I decided to make her an album out of it!

The "A+" opens up to put 2 pictures inside.
The bookmarks are big enough to put 2 pics on, or they can be used for journaling.
This card also opens for 2 pictures and tucks inside the black border.

And last but not least, the "Spelling Bee" also opens for room for 2 smaller pics.

This was so much fun to make, but more special was the response it received when I gave it to Stacy! She said, "This is the best present I've ever gotten!"

Gift Card Holder (Gina K)

I watched a Gina K. tutorial on YouTube this morning and learned how to make another gift card holder! Here's the outside.....
... and here's the inside (just slip the ribbon off over the top!)...
(I'm still hooked on the sei Dill Blossom paper pack!)
I'm probably going to leave these without sentiments so they can be used for any occasion! Try it and let me know how yours comes out!

Hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas!!

'Marci' digis

I recently purchased a couple 'Marci' digis from La-La Land and am now TOTALLY in love with her!!  I colored a bunch of them to make some 'no sentiment-girlie' cards for Operation Write Home...

... and this next one is my favorite!! My Bestest Friend asked me to make a red-head, and this is the closest I could get!
Isn't she adorable?!?!?

All of these cards were used with sei's Dill Blossom paper pack, SU markers, and of course, La-La Land's Marci digi.

If you are interested in joining me and hundreds of others in our efforts to help deployed servicemen and women send handmade cards home to their loved ones, click HERE to learn more about OWH, their guidelines, and which cards are needed at this time!

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!!!

OWH MWT Challenge

This week's Midweek Throwdown Challenge is to make birthday cards. Here's my card...
I still love the 'bursting window' technique, so I use it often! I used an SEI paperpack called Dill Blossom, an SU cupcake stamp, a Tim Holtz ticket, and some twine and a charm I found in my stash.

Here's a closer view of the embellishments...
Enjoy!!

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge

The Midweek Throwdown Challenge for Operation Write Home is to make an Any Occasion No Sentiment card.  This actually worked out perfect for me because I was working on a card and couldn't figure out where I was going with it!

I went to the RubberStamp Convention at the Carson Community Center last week and bought my 1st La La Land Stamp so I used her... "Dress Up Marci"! I colored her with watercolor pencils and used scraps and embellishments I had scattered in my craft corner, and added some pearls with an Ice White Pearl Pen!

Hope you are enjoying this week's challenge!

WaterColor Pencils

I love seeing all the cards colored with water color pencils and Copic Markers that I finally decided to try it myself! I bought some pencils at the Ontario Scrapbook Expo this past weekend and here is my 1st attempt....
I used a digi from one of my favorite artists, Sliekje, Staedtler Water Color Pencils, and Stampin' Up Blender Pens. I haven't put it on a card yet... just playing!!

Clipboards

Just a quick post tonight... I made these mini clipboards for the boutique coming up on November 8th (will post address and time when I get the details!)...

and here's a close up of the 2nd one... wanted you to get a good look at the bling!!
I made the flowers by spiral cutting circles and then rolling the spirals... Here's a link to the video: Slater Dee's Circle Rosettes. I hope it works! If not, just "youtube" Slater Dee and look for the Circle Rosettes tutorial :) I used some Stickles for the glittery look, and then just cut up some scraps to make little note cards so it could actually be used for more than just being pretty!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blog Candy Winner

The lucky winner of my Blog Candy is DONNA HANLEY! I will send you an email requesting a mailing address. Congrats and Thanks for participating in the fundraising efforts of www.knkdesignsblog.blogspot.com and Operation Write Home!!

Tissue Roll Mini Albums

I hope you were able to take some time to visit K 'n K Designs and purchase some of their digital stamps that were created specifically to help raise money for Operation Write Home to help with shipping costs during the upcoming holiday season... IF NOT, go LOOK, SHOP, and then come back and COMMENT on the post before this one to be entered in some Blog Candy Giveaways!! (Make sure to do this by November 1st!!)

This past week I have been working on some mini albums to hopefully sell at some upcoming Boutiques...
(Yes, I really have blue nail polish with glitter on!!)

Each page has a tag tucked in it to put pictures on, with a ribbon to pull it out...
This album was made out of tissue rolls. I used 4 rolls, covered and embellished them with 3 Birds Exscrapaganza goodies, as well as some extra pearl stickies, SU ribbon, tags cut with my Cricut (Tags, Bags, Boxes and More), and you can't see it, but each page also has a little bit of Stickles to add a little extra Bling!

Here's another one I made. I'll have individual pages on my Rainbows N Butterflies FaceBook Page ...

Enjoy!!

Halloween Treats

Okay... I know I haven't posted in a while, but I've been working really hard on building my 'stock-pile'! NO, I'm NOT an Extreme Couponer! (although I have tried!) I was really low on on-hand crafts, so I had to spend a couple weeks making stuff so I would have enough to fill a 6' table at a Market Place I was invited to set a table up at!

HMMMM.... well, that didn't work so well! My camera is so temperamental!!! I guess I'll start slowly adding close-ups of some of the things I made, starting with these Halloween Goodies...

The cellophane bags are from Stampin' Up's Fall Mini Catalog... I LOVE these! I put pencils in mine, but Aimee at Stamping With Aimee put M&M's and Red Vines in hers... VERY CUTE!!! I just added tags!

I am still uploading pics of other items, so come back soon to see more!
Thank you so much for visiting!!

Scrapbook Pages

I don't normally do scrapbooking, but since I'm in a Scrapbook Club, I'm being forced to! In our classes we make 2 scrapbook pages and one other project using CTMH products. (The pink high-heel I previously posted is from one of the classes.) So as not to bore you, I'm only posting 1 page from each month we've met so far!

Since I don't scrapbook, some lucky girl is going to end up with this album some day!!

A Starburst For My FB 'LIKER'!!

Just finished the pack of cards for my Rainbows N Butterflies FaceBook winner! Here is one of my favorite techniques I learned from an Operation Write Home Tutorial on Starbursts....
The paper is from CTMH and some scraps I had laying around, and the sentiment is from SU.

Thanks for visiting!!

Bursting Window!

A friend of mine took me to a scrapbooking store in Santa Clarita recently called Scrapbooking Made Simple. We were lucky enough to go when they had a Make-n-Take table set up and got to make these beautiful cards using some Tim Holtz goodies!!
Here's a close-up of the 'bursting window' (I don't know what it's called, but that sounds really cool!!!)
When I got home, I couldn't wait to try it on my own...
This is such an easy technique I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it on my future cards!!

Enjoy!!

Clean & Simple Monochromatic

I was Blog-hopping not too long ago during the OWH 'CAS!' BlogSkip and got a little side-tracked, but found a Blog with a beautiful monochromatic card (not from the Skip) that I just HAD to try! Unfortunately I forgot what Blog it was :( but here's what I came up with.....

I used my Cuttlebug to emboss around the edges and added some tiny pearls. The sentiment is from SU.

This card will go in a pack I'm giving away for getting 150 'LIKES' on my Rainbows N Butterflies FaceBook page!! If you haven't seen it, please click on the side link and look around!!

Back To School Cards

My cousin called me a couple weeks ago and asked if I could make some Back To School cards for her kids, one for Kindergarten, and one for 1st grade. I had just gotten some really cute digis from About.com and couldn't wait to use them!!

Hope it helps get the kids excited for school!!!

ATC - Any Theme

This month our ATC theme is anything we want it to be!  I found this beautiful paper at Michael's and decided to try a Victorian style 'friend' card.

I went 'shopping' at my mom's house and found some paper doilies, and made the flowers with my friend's Big Shot. I also added some tiny pearls, and the sentiment and tag are from SU. Each card is just a little different because I changed the flowers up...

If you make ATC's, please leave me a link to your page... I love seeing other ideas!

Clean & Simple (CAS)

Operation Write Home is having a Blog-Skip today with a Clean and Simple theme...

Here's the card I was inspired to make after seeing all the beautiful cards. I actually made a card similar to this last year for Valentine's Day and was told it was a little too simple, so I added to that one.... but for the CAS theme, I think it's perfect!!
Hope you enjoyed the Skip!!!

My Pink High-Heel

As promised, here's an update on my scrappy happenings!

The 1st thing on my list is continued from my last post.....My pink high-heel! (Allison, you had it right!)

I made this with my Scrappinladyz MeetUp group last week and I just love it! The shoe was cut from a Cricut cartridge (I think it was the new Princess cart, but don't hold me to that!) and embellished with the Roxie CTMH paper pack and other CTMH pins, rhinestones, and flowers...

There are so many beautiful ideas you can use with this, but my favorite was to put some business cards in it for my boutique tables!

The next thing I am so excited to show you is a Recipe Book I made at a different Scrapbook Class! This was also with a MeetUp group, Stampin and Scrappin Girlz.
Most of this cute little paperbag book was embellished with Cricut images (again, I have no idea which one! But it has to do with Hawaiian/Summer stuff!). It has LOTS of pockets for recipes, which we each contributed and swapped!

Hope you enjoy these and are able to get some crafty ideas!!
