Shop Hopping in Phoenix

This weekend we decided to leave our beautiful Southern California weather and spend some time in the HOTTEST city we could find.... Phoenix!!! I believe the average for the last couple days was about 110 degrees.... Talk about 'hard to breathe'!!!
Anyway, since I can't make cards while I'm here, I put out an APB on the OWH FB page for scrapbook stores in the area. Some very lovely ladies recommended 2 stores that I absolutely fell in love with... Scrapbooks, Etc., and Scrapbook Barn! I didn't get carried away, but did give in to the paper section!

I'm so excited to get home and use the Patriotic paper on some Any Hero Cards!!!

And this is the REAL reason we came to visit....
These kids can't get enough of each other!! Minimal arguments and LOTS of laughing and screaming!!!

If time permits, I'm going to try to hit up a couple more stores before we leave tomorrow night!!

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend as much as we are!!

More Than Just A Flip-Flop!

Okay... I know I've probably said this before, but this is my new all-time favorite project!!

My Meet Up group, Scrappinladyz, has SO many classes that I couldn't possibly go to all of them, but I am soooo glad I made it to this last one! We made a Flip-Flop photo album out of a real flip-flop! The pages were traced to fit the flip-flop and the embellishments were all picked out for us, so other than fitting the torn patterned papers and making them fit right, there was little thinking involved on my part! We made a beach theme, but the possibilities are endless as far as other ways of decorating these!!

There are actually 5 pages and room for 13 small pictures.... a perfect gift for any occasion!!

Also, did you notice my Blog has had a facelift??? What do you think????

As always, thanks for stopping by!!

Starburst!!

I LOVE the most recent tutorial on Stars & Stamps! Shannan at Pink Tulle With Feathers And Sequins offered this simple step-by-step technique... PLEASE visit her page and tell her how awesome she is!! (and tell her I said so, too!!)

I thought this card was too pretty to just look at and lay down on a counter or put in a drawer so I combined it with the Easel Card we learned back in June, 2010 (also from the S&S page... I just tweaked the dimensions a little so it would stand sideways instead of the long way!).  This way it can be displayed on a mantle or maybe a corner table!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please leave me a comment so I know you were here!!

Piggy Birthday

One of my most challenging orders came in last month... my cousin asked for birthday invitations with PIGGIES on them!! Her daughter is going thru a 'Piggy' phase and she couldn't find any invites! This was no easy task!!! Luckily my daughter thought to go to the elementary school by us, and one of the kindergarten teachers had the perfect pig!!

I folded textured cardstock and cut the pig on the fold. My daughter came up with the idea to put a ruffle on it for a tutu, we added a bow, a googly eye, and the sentiment... isn't this adorable?!?!

I wanted to do something different for her Thank You cards, so at a local 'Cricut Swarm', I borrowed the Create A Critter cartridge and made these....

I believe the grass is a Martha Stewart Border Punch, and the clouds are cupcake tops from my Cricut Celebrations cartridge embossed with my Cuttlebug. And of course the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I also made some extras and put Happy Birthday sentiments on them for some other orders.

I'm also working on filling an order of cards for a friend that ordered like 3 months ago!! Thank Goodness she's patient!!! I've made most of them already, but here's just one for now.....

This is made with one of the Stampin' Up Designer Series paper packs.... not sure what it's called but if anyone wants to know, I'll find out for you!! Oh... and I used Sketch #1 from Operation Write Home's Stars & Stamps Blog.
