Fall Mini Album

I have been SUPER busy lately... Babysitting my granddaughter, taking my girls to dance, high school football games for my son, started and finished a manicuring program and passed the State Board (YAAYYY!!), and of course, crafting!

I went to a scrapbook retreat in Murrieta called Scrap Diva Retreats that was just AMAZING!!! Not only did we scrap from the wee hours of the morning until way past sundown, but we also got some fun shopping in, too! You can join their Meet Up HERE and experience it for yourself!!

Scrapbook Corner opened just for us and gave us some REALLY good deals! Besides buying a Cricut Expression from none other than Cricut Dan, I also bought the new Mini Books cartridge to go with it!!

Here is my 1st project from the cart. It measures 8"x5"... Hang on, this is a long one!!

As you can see, these next pages are layered in different sizes so I'm showing each turned page....

... and finally....
... with a tag inside....

Most of my book is pretty self-explanatory. I used my Cricut for some of the diecuts, the Autumn Melody Matstack from DCWV along with some various scraps of other DPs, solids, ribbon, stamps, ink and embellishments from my never-ending stash! I didn't have any journaling paper so I used index cards, inked them with a sponge dauber and traced the lines with a SU orange marker!

My goal is to use this for pictures from our Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house... We'll see how far I get!!

Presidents and a Tu-Tu!

My original plan was for this Blog to be used for just my cards and papercrafts, but as I get deeper and deeper into crafts, I'm feeling the need to share some other stuff.... Stuff I NEVER thought I would get into!!

The 1st thing I want to share is one of the craziest projects any of my kids have had to do that I can remember! My 5th grader did a President report on Andrew Jackson, and she had to make a doll out of a soap bottle. Although this isn't something I'm looking forward to doing again (which WILL happen next year with my youngest daughter!), we were pretty proud of what we came up with!
This is supposed to be Andrew Jackson and Franklin D. Roosevelt!!
The next thing I want to share is quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever made!!!
After a visit to one of our local craft stores, Tall Mouse, I couldn't resist trying my hand at tu-tu's!!
This will be for my granddaughter that is due sometime in March, Arianna Lucille (I'm going to call her Lucy!)

In honor of my little Lucy and back to papercrafts, I just wanted to throw a picture of some of the ladies I got together with to make an 'I Love Lucy' mini album!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Schoolhouse Chipboard Album

I made this Schoolhouse album for my youngest daughter's kindergarten teacher. My daughter is now in 4th grade, but Stacy and I have stayed friends through the years. She gave me a DCWV Grade School paper pack at the end of last year, so I decided to make her an album out of it!

The "A+" opens up to put 2 pictures inside.
The bookmarks are big enough to put 2 pics on, or they can be used for journaling.
This card also opens for 2 pictures and tucks inside the black border.

And last but not least, the "Spelling Bee" also opens for room for 2 smaller pics.

This was so much fun to make, but more special was the response it received when I gave it to Stacy! She said, "This is the best present I've ever gotten!"

Tissue Roll Mini Albums

I hope you were able to take some time to visit K 'n K Designs and purchase some of their digital stamps that were created specifically to help raise money for Operation Write Home to help with shipping costs during the upcoming holiday season... IF NOT, go LOOK, SHOP, and then come back and COMMENT on the post before this one to be entered in some Blog Candy Giveaways!! (Make sure to do this by November 1st!!)

This past week I have been working on some mini albums to hopefully sell at some upcoming Boutiques...
(Yes, I really have blue nail polish with glitter on!!)

Each page has a tag tucked in it to put pictures on, with a ribbon to pull it out...
This album was made out of tissue rolls. I used 4 rolls, covered and embellished them with 3 Birds Exscrapaganza goodies, as well as some extra pearl stickies, SU ribbon, tags cut with my Cricut (Tags, Bags, Boxes and More), and you can't see it, but each page also has a little bit of Stickles to add a little extra Bling!

Here's another one I made. I'll have individual pages on my Rainbows N Butterflies FaceBook Page ...

Enjoy!!

My Pink High-Heel

As promised, here's an update on my scrappy happenings!

The 1st thing on my list is continued from my last post.....My pink high-heel! (Allison, you had it right!)

I made this with my Scrappinladyz MeetUp group last week and I just love it! The shoe was cut from a Cricut cartridge (I think it was the new Princess cart, but don't hold me to that!) and embellished with the Roxie CTMH paper pack and other CTMH pins, rhinestones, and flowers...

There are so many beautiful ideas you can use with this, but my favorite was to put some business cards in it for my boutique tables!

The next thing I am so excited to show you is a Recipe Book I made at a different Scrapbook Class! This was also with a MeetUp group, Stampin and Scrappin Girlz.
Most of this cute little paperbag book was embellished with Cricut images (again, I have no idea which one! But it has to do with Hawaiian/Summer stuff!). It has LOTS of pockets for recipes, which we each contributed and swapped!

Hope you enjoy these and are able to get some crafty ideas!!

More Than Just A Flip-Flop!

Okay... I know I've probably said this before, but this is my new all-time favorite project!!

My Meet Up group, Scrappinladyz, has SO many classes that I couldn't possibly go to all of them, but I am soooo glad I made it to this last one! We made a Flip-Flop photo album out of a real flip-flop! The pages were traced to fit the flip-flop and the embellishments were all picked out for us, so other than fitting the torn patterned papers and making them fit right, there was little thinking involved on my part! We made a beach theme, but the possibilities are endless as far as other ways of decorating these!!

There are actually 5 pages and room for 13 small pictures.... a perfect gift for any occasion!!

Also, did you notice my Blog has had a facelift??? What do you think????

As always, thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has had a chance to recover from eating waaay too much food for Thanksgiving! I had a beautiful visit with my family at my mom's house and got to take LOTS of leftovers home!

For the last couple weeks I have been working to build up my inventory. My dream is to start a small business to sell my cards, photo clips, and mini photo albums. If anyone has any advice for me, I would TRULY appreciate all the help I can get!

I mentioned in an earlier post that I met a lady that sells baby items, and she asked me to make her some cards to go with her baskets. For some reason baby cards are not really my thing, so this was no easy task for me, but this is what I came up with....

I will have the rest of the cards I made on my facebook page if you're interested in checking them out! (see the link to the right)

... and other than making about 10 more photo clips, I made some Christmas Mini Albums... let me know if you are interested in one for yourself. They measure about 5 1/2" x 5" and I sell them for $6....

Until next time... have a beautiful week!!

Another Halloween Mini Album

Here's another Halloween Mini... I think I'll just make a bunch of them since I'm already getting orders! Anyone want to join me?

PS... I'm still learning how to size and position my postings! There's so much to learn that I'm beginning to feel like a "Blog Junkie"!!!

Sunday, October 10, 2010

I was going through my stickers and embellishments and found some Halloween stuff.... so I figured I'd make a mini album. I started making these a couple years ago and actually sold them on Ebay!

The book is made out of small paper bags. You can use any size or color you want, but I used brown
5 1/8" x 3 1/8" x 10 5/8". I punched 3 holes on the sides and tied ribbon through it. After I glued a background on each page (4 3/4" x 4"), I decorated with stickers, embellishments, and Voila!!

These little albums are great for any occasion.... It's totally up to you and your creativity!!
